Christmas is almost upon us, and it has been a busy festive season at Clapham Foodbank. We have been overwhelmed by your donations. Your generosity will help us to support local people in crisis both at Christmas and in the New Year.
On the first weekend of December (November 29 – December 2), we took part in the annual Trussell Trust Tesco Collection, at Tesco on Clapham Common South Side. The support from local shoppers was incredible, and we are pleased to announce that we collected 441.15kg of donations. To put that in context; that was enough to fill our van to the brim twice over! Thank you for your generosity, and thank you to the volunteers who helped collect food for us over the weekend.
Since the Tesco Collection, we have been busy putting together Christmas Hampers, which will be delivered to those in urgent need of food and supplies for the festive period. These are in the process of distribution, and we hope to have more news on their impact in the New Year.
Remember, if you’ve been kind enough to take part in our Reverse Advent Calendar appeal, please donate your collection on December 22 between 10:00 am and 12:00pm. This is the last day our Foodbank will be open before Christmas!
If you can’t make it – don’t worry! Please call ahead to arrange a time to drop off your donation after Christmas. The Foodbank will re-open as normal in the New Year.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to sharing our news with you in 2018.
